Finished spines to the Masonic journals
These are the first of a set Masonic journals. The spines had deteriorated to such a point they needed new spines. At this stage they have the titling only.
We have a selection of brass type faces. These give a quality, sharp impression. With “Blocking” directly to the case (rather than the cloth) for a deeper lasting finish.

1/4 leather spine on photo album.
“The Bells of York”. We sowed and bound the books as a traditional rounded and backed binding, then covered with a gained cloth. The case is embossed with the York crest and blocked using gold foil.
A personalised address book. With 1/4 embossed calf and smooth skiver sides. Embossed with the family name. Includes a made to measure presentation box.
These are a set of old books, which have been re covered in a traditional style specified by the customer, They have leather (calf) spines, with raised bands making the panels for the title labels.
A recent new case on a small bible. The case is of thin mill board with round edges covered with black grained calf skin. Raised bands on the spine with blind lines either side and lettered.
Every year we are asked to repair or rebind many bibles. They arrive in many forms. From unbound parts to bindings that have been stored in damp or other improper conditions.
The finished bindings are constructed to be stronger than before, with added strength to the spine and board joints.
Wedding album – 1/4 leather bound, with purple suede sides – Clam shell box, lined with hand made marble paper to match the inside of book.
Professionally taken and printed wedding pictures – hard bound with laminated picture cover and metal protector corners.
A bible, presented to York Bookbinding as parts, made up of sewn sections. The customer requested the book should be hard bound in the half green goat skin with marble sides & spine panels.
Bound in black embossed calf with raised bands and skiver title labels. The front board has an Airbrush design of an eye looking out of the book covered with clear Velum.
Various samples of our own design DVD/CD holders, which can be produced in any of our selection of cloths. Then lettered on the front to show the contents. Ideal for wedding pictures and presents.
Customers courtship e mails to girl in Hawaii – Full bound in purple goat skin with an airbrush colour picture of an Hibiscus flower on the front and gold lettering.
